Tony La Russa Manager, St. Louis Cardinals Tony La Russa, manager of the 2006 World Series champion St. Louis Cardinals baseball team, has more victories than any other modern Baseball manager, and is ranked third all-time for total number of career wins, trailing only Connie Mack (3,731) and John McGraw (2,763). Along with his close friend Sparky Anderson, he is one of only two managers in Baseball history to win the World Series with teams in both the American and National Leagues, and is also one of only three men (with Jim Leyland and Bobby Cox) to be named Manager of the Year in both leagues. In addition to his baseball accomplishments, he holds a JD degree from the University of South Florida. Tony and Elaine La Russa are the founders of the Animal Rescue Foundation (<http://www.tlr-arf.org>) in Walnut Creek, CA, a No-Kill Shelter dedicated to bringing people and animals together. Tony played an integral role in the design of computer strategy and AI for the hit Tony La Russa Baseball series, which was developed by Stormfront Studios. |
